Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic team captain, who was awarded gold at the 2012 Olympics. Six of her Olympic gold medals make up part of an unprecedented total. Additionally, she was a member two World Championships-winning teams. A native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's passion for sports is traced to a "mommy & me" gymnastics class she took at the age of 18 months. Aly Raisman is a defender of body positivity. She is also an inspiration both on the floor and off, and she spoke against Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing. Aly was born on the 24th of April, 1994. Aly Raisman started gymnastics as a child and was a part of her U.S. gymnastics team win the 2011 World Championships. After that she won two gold medals -- one in the team competition, and the second in the competition for the solo floor exercise. She also won a bronze medal for the beam during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. In 2016, Raisman returned to compete at the Olympics in Rio she won silver medals in the single floor and all-around final as well as a gold medal in the women's gymnastics team competition. Raisman revealed in 2017 that she had been sexually assaulted by team doctor Larry Nassar. The following year, she filed an action in the name of USA Gymnastics as well as the U.S. Olympic Committee.
