Jazmine Sullivan
Jazmine was a Philadelphia native, was born and raised there. Pam Her mother, who was an old backup singer at Philadelphia International Records. In the age of five, her father was appointed to the position of the city's Historic Strawberry Mansion curator. Their family eventually moved to the historic mansion. She is a 2005 graduate from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was an instructor of vocal music. Sullivan began singing as a contralto with the children's choir, then a few years later in the adult choir. The exposure Sullivan had to secular music was initially limited "I was doing solos in the church, and I was asked to be a part of an evangelical label when I was eleven but I wasn't yet ready," she recalls. In the following year, McDonald's held a contest for children in large cities. I was able to perform "Accept The Grace God Gives" at it's Showtime At the Apollo. And the public was extremely supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part for her son's 13th birthday celebration. Sullivan At the age of 15, was first signed to Jive Records. In Jive Records, she made the entire album but the album wasn't released. Sullivan was then eliminated on the labels. The singer had a great working relations to Missy Elliott. Elliott produced several of her songs such as "Backstabbers", which was written by Timbaland.
